I would keep alot of what you have said to yourself to be honest. Its not the type of town that you can just lay into people or things ect.

In other words, New Yorkers are fucking babies.

Their town sucks, but they cry if you tell them that.

Sure, there are still decent events to be found and good times to be had.
But overall, it's a sad state of affairs. In many regards.
And if you think this isn't the case... you must not get out much.

You get out too much, lol.
But you don't travel much.

That's more what I meant.

On a related note, y'all should mosey on down here this weekend -

http://www.summercampfestival.com/2010/

Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, Umphrey's, Yonder, Soundtribe, Ana Sia, Keller, Boombox, moe., . . .

Lineup is amazing, IMO. As is the venue. The website may be a bit slow due to traffic.

okay, but i have traveled alot. not really for recreation so im sure my view is skewed but whatever...

but id argue the comparisons are irrelevant. you just cant compare NYC to anywhere to understand NYC better.

what we do here, is exactly what we do. and its mad fun. and there is always too much to do.... its actually physically impossible to go everywhere i want.. and thats pretty much been non stop for the last few years...

and it just keeps getting better.

sure, some parties flop... lol... they HAVE to... its how this place works...
is NYC kinda cut throat with a very short attention span? lol, of course, its NYC wtf do you expect? lol... is NYC mostly "Hiphop" & "House" ??? of course, NYC IS Hiphop & House.

im saying... for a minute there we were told we should be scared and at war. it really really fucked us up in retrospect. like... really. but its in our nature to celebrate, and we can just choose to make that the prevailing vibe.

NYC went downhill long before 9/11.

Also, I personally find New Yorkers to be extremely isolated. It's sad, really. Many of them never leave that tiny island. It's like LOST, minus the mysteries.

You've been saying this for a while, and I've been to a lot of the parties that you praise, but... I just don't see it.
Personally, I have a good time whenever I go out. Even if a party sucks, I make the best of it. But I don't pretend something is good when it sucks.

But to each their own. The only EDM events I'm really looking forward to this summer are Starscape & Burning Man. Other than that, I'll be at festivals as much as possible. Better vibe, better music, better crowds, better times.

True, but I'd venture to guess the cost of owning a car on the LOST island is waaay cheaper than it is in NYC

even if the mainstream NYC scene is kinda weak these days, there's still a lotta hot underground parties out there. i remember having fun at rubalad a coupla years ago... i dunno.. does the danger (formerly complacent) still throw parties?

i've been to a coupla cool whisper parties too but i dunno if they even have names.
