Yeah waited 30 mins for a train at Union Sq. The Sauna was in full effect down there - Soaked in sweat. One uptown train arrived after 6 downtown trains came and went. Train was over crowded but managed to squeeze on.

Barely anyone is at work.

I woke up @ 5:00 am to that storm POUNDING last night. I don't think I've ever heard anything like it before. It was literally constant strobing lightning and rolling LOUD thunder. It was like a movie !!! It sounded like a friggen war...flash flash flash boom boom boom repeat. My cat, who usually doesn't react to thunder jumped in my bed and was shaking like a leaf !!!!!

I wish I could find a radar capture, or video of that cell rolling thru from last night.

i finally made it to work after like an hour and a half. The L was down so everyone flooded the J that i usually take. I walked over the wburg bridge instead and then managed to get uptown finally.

fucking MTA - i don't understand how they continually get away with such shitty service and keep demanding fare hikes.

aaaaaaaaaaa holes Smile

(here i am again, new yorker complaining about the subways AND the weather)

To think you people complain about working INDOORS.

'Cause those damned blue-collar tweekers
Have always run this town

Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers

I've seen them out at Soco
They're pounding sixteen penny nails
The truckers on the interstate
Have been known to ride the rails
The sweat is beating on the brow
Can't keep these fellas down
'Cause those damned blue-collared tweekers
Are runnin' this here town

I knew a man who hung drywall
He hung it mighty quick
A trip or two to the blue room
Would help him do the trick
His foreman would pat him on the back
Whenever he would come around
'Cause these dammed blue-collar tweekers
Are beloved in this here town

Now the union boys are there
To protect us from all the corporate type
While curious George's drug patrol
Is out here hunting snipe
Now they try to tell me different
But you know I ain't no clown
'Cause those damned blue-collar tweekers
Are the backbone of this town

Now the flame that burns twice as bright
Burns only half as long
My eyes are growing weary
As I finalize this song
So sit back and have a cup o' joe
And watch the wheels go round
'Cause those damned blue-collar tweekers
Have always run this town
